10 July 2019

On July 10, 2019, Belenergo SPA, the Russian Export Center, and the Ural Turbine Works signed a memorandum of cooperation at the INNOPROM-2019 international industrial exhibition.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to continue to develop long-term cooperation in design and manufacture of steam heating and condensing turbines, as well as to provide equipment modernization, supply of original spare parts, commissioning, warranty, and post-warranty maintenance, and equipment installation services at the power generating companies of Belenergo SPA.
In particular, we are talking about the projects at the stations in Mogilev, Vitsebsk, and Minsk, included in the Industry Program for the Development of Electric Power Industry for 2016-2020.
The Ural Turbine Works, being one of the leading enterprises producing heating steam turbines in the post-Soviet space, has been supplying steam turbines for the power system of Belarus for many years. Turbines of the Urals enterprise represent this country's fleet by 20%. Over the years, 20 steam turbines have been supplied there, 13 of which are currently generating electricity and heat for consumers in Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Polotsk, Mazyr, and Grodno. Currently, the plant is completing the reconstruction of the PT-60 turbine at the Grodno CHPP-2, as well as a large-scale reconstruction project of the Minsk CHPP-3 (14 MPa queue).
The joint efforts of the three companies will make it possible to offer integrated innovative solutions for the power industry of Belarus with the best technical and economic performance of equipment on the one hand, and optimal and affordable financing for such projects on the other hand.
Sergei Valentinovich Perestoronin, Minister of Industry and Science of the Sverdlovsk Region said, “The Republic of Belarus is a long-standing partner of the Sverdlovsk Region. Signing this memorandum is important for the development of the Urals power and machine-building complex and export growth.”
Pavel Vladimirovich Drozd, Belenergo SPA, Director General said, “The new stage of our cooperation will allow us to significantly increase the reliability and efficiency of the power system of the Republic of Belarus. Commissioning of new facilities and reconstruction of the existing ones with the use of technological capacity and experience of the Ural Turbine Works will make it possible to achieve maximum efficiency of the measures taken, including by reducing the costs of subsequent repairs and maintenance.”
Andrei Slepnev, Russian Export Center, Director General said, “The Russian Export Center Group is ready to offer optimal package solutions for transactions structuring and providing available financing of export contracts which envisage using equipment from Russian manufacturers and Russian contractors for implementation of energy-related projects as part of the bidding process.”
Mikhail Lifshits, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ural Turbine Works, “Despite the humble name of the document, it is a very important event for us. Belenergo is our long-standing and very reliable partner. All memoranda signed with Belenergo over the years have eventually turned into contracts. And the Russian Export Center is equally reliable, since it is able to turn the instructions of the Government of the country to support exporters into reliable mechanisms operating for this purpose.”
